About
Hello, Adult Educators!
Being in adult education for over 30 years, you can imagine how passionate I am about teaching and really understanding the adult learner. I love it so much that throughout the past 26 years of teaching at the jail, anytime I shifted jobs, it was always
with the understanding that I would never give up teaching at the jail.
When I became a program adult education coordinator I still taught at the jail. Even when I went to work with the Indiana Adult Education Professional Development Team as well as when I went to work with WorkOne (Indiana One Stops) I was able to negotiate keeping my jail class. I love reaching and teaching every adult learner. I know that you will see this exhibited in my workshops, webinars, and lesson plans.
I have experience and understanding of both Workforce Investment Act I and Workforce Investment Act II funding and policy and have been instrumental in facilitating the transition from WIA to WIOA, including implementing standards based education and integrating education and training (IET) into the Adult Education classrooms.

Currently, I own my own education consulting company where over the past 20 years I have presented nationally to adult basic educators, correction educators, and post-secondary institutions, and, of course, I still teach at the jail. I have a Master’s of Science in Adult Education focusing on Adult Learning Theory. My curriculum and strategies have been implemented into programs and classrooms throughout Indiana as well as other states and has helped shaped many teachers, administrators and students.
I was previously the COABE Region 4 Representative and have served on our state adult education board (IAACE) as President, Secretary and Board member. It was an honor to serve adult education in this capacity.
